That's all you need to create the perfect Italian Cream Soda. Start with clear plastic cups or glasses, because, hello, you want the pretty drink to be an accessory in itself. Add 4 tablespoons of your favorite flavor of fruit syrup, the kind made especially for mixing drinks. I recommend the brand 'Torani'. Best flavor? Raspberry. Add half & half next, before the water, to avoid curdling. The amount is up to you, but start small and add more if needed. Fill the cup almost to the top with sparkling water. Avoid mineral waters or flavored waters - the plainer the better, as you don't want it reacting with the cream and getting chunky...ew. Club soda is your best bet. Don't stir...cream will curdle! Let the fizzies do their job, they'll mix it as much as it needs to be mixed. Plop in a few ice cubes, add whipped cream, stick in a cute straw (at which point I recommend Jonathan Adler paper straws or even a cute design from Target) & ta-da! You may now enjoy a delicious & gorgeous drink.
To create a fabulous look for your next event , display on your favorite table with cute napkins (that look good with the straws, obviously) on a cute brightly colored tray (see my faves on home decor page) with some flowers as your table's centerpiece. Perfect!
